Kiwimac Posted 8 hours ago Share #1 Posted 8 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve noticed that both my new 35 Lux FLE v1 and my Apo Cron 50 don’t have hard stops at f1.4 and f2 respectively. You can move the ring slightly further past those apertures. About 1/3 rd of a stop at a guess. On the 35, the very edges of the aperture blades are visible at f1.4 as a silver sliver around the edge looking in from the front. If you then turn the aperture ring past the f1.4 mark until it actually physically stops, that sliver of the blade edges disappears. This doesn’t happen on the 50 Apo. There’s no change when you push past f2. The only other M lens I currently own is the LLL eight element. That hard stops exactly at f2. Is this slight wiggle room in the Leica aperture system a normal thing?
