Is thethered shooting with M EV1 and Adobe Lightroom really possible as Leica state?

In the M EV1 user manual (p 77), Leica state that "the tethering function allows for a tethering to Capture One and Adobe Lightroom."

I have used Adobe Lightroom Classic, with and without the plugin (LeicaTethered_2.3.8.lrplugin - as downloaded today from Leica's website).

With the plugin activated (Lightroom Classic asks you when you start tethered shooting whether or not to make use of the plugin), there is indeed a pop-up, but there is NO option to activate something like "live view" (as this is the case for many Canon and Nikon models). Yes, I can click on the round button an take a shot, but without live view, this hardly makes any sense.

In addition:

I have used different USB-C cables

I have used different USB-C ports on my Mac

I have turned both camera and Mac on any off

Please note that I am not interested in whether it works with Capture1 - because CHF37/month subscription cost for a software I only use once or twice a month to "digiscan" my negatives does not make sense for me (unless, C1 would be the one and only app that provides live view ...). I have used C1 with my SL3 (and it worked perfectly), but the SL purchases were the result of my GAS and I sold all the SL stuff.

Also, I acknowledge that "tethering" may mean different things for Leica (just a cable connection) and for me (live view) - any maybe I am wrong with my expectations.

I am very curious to learn whether anybody has succeeded in getting live view in Adobe Lightroom to work with an M EV1. Thanks!

The last version?

You are right, tethering without preview the photo makes not really sense and degrade it to a remote shutter.
What i used to "tether" my SL2 when doing macro is the Leica Fotos app on my 13 inch iPad t do so and it worked reasonably well.

If i remember correctly then LrC plugin did not worked satisfactory or like yours what would explain why i used Fotos.

Using the iPad as you have described, PhotoCruiser, results in a bigger screen than mirroring the iPhone. Good workaround.

If, however, USB mode = tethering, then no images are downloaded and none are stored on the SD nor on the internal storage. This is not thought through by Leica.

Yes, i know, not the best solution but better than nothing.
A normal tethering solution would be much better and somehow wired that camera picture is not showed.
Maybe Leica / Adobe will work on that and release a update to address that, including Leica Fotos for MacOS and Windows to run it on a even bigger screen.
