elmars Posted 12 hours ago Share #1 Posted 12 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) In the direct access settings of the SL2, I can assign AF activation to the joystick. I like to do this to decouple AF control from the shutter release; the camera is then set to MF. When I assign the joystick in this way, the setting is AFs. But it should actually be called AF-L, because the focus point found is saved until I press the joystick again. Is it the same for you? I would prefer a normal AFs function without AF lock. Is that possible? If so, how?
Advertisement Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Hi elmars, Take a look here SL2: AFs start with Joystick (Back Button Focus). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LD_50 Posted 11 hours ago Share #2 Posted 11 hours ago Go to Menu: Customize Control --> Joystick Set: MF Mode: AFs Operating Mode: Hold Joystick Lock: Off If you have Operating Mode set to "Click" it will hold the AFs (Or keep continuous focus active in AFc) until you press the joystick again. I would recommend you try MF Mode: AFc, where it essentially acts as AFs and you control when it's active by holding the joystick.
