28 Summicron - 11618 or 11672, or "now I understand why everybody said keep the Q"

Ladies and Gents,

After two years of shooting with 35 as my main focal length, I think I am ripe for a 28 mm again.

I wonder whether the 11618 is worth the extra bucks over the 11672. I understand integrated lens hood (a plus in my books) and close focus (nice to have but rarely used) are advantages of the 11618, but are there other factors to consider that I might be missing?

If you frequently use color filters for black-and-white photography, the 28mm Summicron with its integrated screw-out lens hood is definitely the fastest way to change filters. For pure photography, the plastic or screw-on metal lens hood should be more than sufficient. The first 28mm Summicron is supposed to exude more analog charm, but others can certainly judge that better. The short minimum focus distance might be interesting for Visoflex users or, more recently, for the M-EV1.
