My M9 is starting to show white lines across the entire image. A few years ago, Leica replaced your sensor due to corrosion issues. The white lines started appearing a few months ago. Does anyone know the reason?

Attached detail.

Looks like your sensor has what is called a 'Hot' (or 'Dead') pixel. Hot / dead pixels can be caused when, for instance, the camera is hit by Gamma Rays when being carried on a flight.

If it / they are the issue it used to be the case (as far as I can remember) that if one sent a copy of one DNG to Leica then they could somehow re-set the camera's software to 'ignore' the affected pixel which would negate the effect.

Speak to your local Leica dealership.

Philip.

I had the same on my old M8 (my first digital M).
At the time the body had to go to Leica for the dead pixel to be “mapped-out” but it may be that this can now done via a remote update.

Edit - there is an M9 thread here - I think it has to go to Leica 😕
