One thing I like about LUMIX LX camera is its lossless square format and 16x9 aspect ratio. LUMIX paid the price to offer somewhat larger sensor area.

When using APS-C lens on FF sensor, the body will adapt to show only the area within the APS-C format, but it should be perfect alright to use square format, without and hardware cost, just the firmware tweak.

I hope LUMIX to offer such options.

That is a good suggestion ; the possibilities of square crops in camera are under appreciated, but as it will not give Leica or Lumix any more sales, the priority is  probably close to zero.

However if you can live without AF, 24x24 crops from dumb APS-C lenses can give unique results e.g 7Artisans 35mm T/1.05 an APS-C / S35 cine lens on the the SL2-S
