Q3 43 condensation on sensor and dust in lens

Hi folks,

I'm wondering if this is an issue I should be concerned about. I've been shooting in some humidity for a few days and noticed for the first time what appears to be condensation on the sensor, shot below. There was no condensation on the lens when I took the sample shot and it cleared up after 10-15 minutes. 

Also I noticed dust in the lens, it's not impacting the shots taken but again just wondering if others have experienced this.

No (I have a Q3 43). Nothing internal like that should happen - it's supposed to be weather-sealed.

I shoot in the rain and fog all the time with my Q43 and never seen that, sorry.

I'll put a warranty claim on this, hopefully Leica will fix it.

Pretty sure Leica will ante up on this.  I live in an area that gets a lot drizzly days...it's never stopped my from shooting and I've never experienced anything like this...and that's with the original Q that isn't weatherproofed.

This is something that Leica will take care of. On the positive side; (average) repair time at Leica is now short; see the overview below that I received after sending a Q3-28mm to Leica for sensor cleaning.

If that was purchased new from an authorized dealer (you don't include any information to know where you are or where you purchased the camera new) I'm pretty sure Leica would handle this for you.

So bad news, the Leica official store have said that all of this is "within the tolerance" of the camera after all tests and that nothing needs to be fixed.

Very disappointing since I bought this new and was shooting in Ho Chi Minch which isn't overly humid compared to a country like Singapore.

I've had interchangeable cameras with no weather sealing and have never seen anything like this happen before.

I'm not sure what my other options are from here, it's probably just going to happen again and concerning that Leica seem to be reluctant to fix it.

Zoracila,  I wouldn't buy the "offical's" answer.   I would email Leica Customer Care that you can find on the Leica Camera Ag website.  I would include your photographs, explanation of what occurred, copy of your paid invoice and see what they say.  I would expect them to write back and tell you have the Leica Store send the camera to them for inspection or tell you how to ship the camera back to Germany directly.  I have both the Q3 and 43, take these to very humid places and never an issue.  r/ Mark

First, yes you have humidity inside the lens.
The round fog happens when outside temp is lower as the dew point of the humid air inside the lens and then condensation happens.
Its a typical sign of that and very common on action cams or cameras in a underwater housing and happen either because outside temp is considerable lower or because inside temp is rising and heating up the air space inside, both lead to condensation and could be also a combination of both.

I had my Q2 for months in Costa Rica what is very humid and definitively no humidity inside, nor did i ever had in my non sealed Nikkor lenses.
The question is how the humidity entered the lens, due overly wet conditions you used the camera or a manufacturing issue.
The presence of dust let me steer to believe that the sealing is compromised.

Yes, contact Leica directly, thats the best way to get a definitive answer.

Two things… contact Leica as recommended by others… and switch dealers; they should have replaced it at your request, assuming all else as new.
