Q3 first pressure point (half-press) stops working?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone experienced an issue with the shutter button on their Q3 where the first pressure point (half-press) stops working?

On my Q3 (Q3 43), the shutter button no longer gives that slight resistance or “click” at the halfway point; it just goes straight down and fires the shutter. The half-press focus activation seems to have completely disappeared.

When I compare it to my older Q3 (Q3 28), that one still feels ‘normal’; there’s a clear halfway resistance and a subtle click when pushing past it.

Everything else on the camera works perfectly, so I’m wondering:

• Has anyone else had this issue?
• Or is there a setting I might have (stupidly) disabled somehow?

I never noticed so I had to check and my Q3/43 and Q2 feel the same.  There is the mid-press detent that I can feel on both.

Thanks, yes, my first pressure point has completely ‘disappeared’ on my Q343. So frustrating! I also have the Q328 to compare it with, and it’s definitely different. It’s been fine for a year or so, but now I’m wondering if there’s a hidden option that switches this off? I’ve already reset the profile… sooo frustrating! Sounds like a hardware issue… Aarrgghhhh

I had the same issue few months back. 
Sent it to Leica and they repaired for me free since it’s still under warranty. 
Turnaround time around 2weeks.

That’s interesting, thank you…. Which office did you use for the repair?  I keep reading horror stories that repairs take many months! C.
