Panasonic 70-200 f4 - OIS and panning

I've asked a related question on the CL forum, but perhaps this is the better forum to pose it: how does panning work on a Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-200 F4? Older lenses have separate settings for panning and normal stabilisation. So far as I can see, this lens only has one switch for image stabilisation - on or off. Is it clever enough to tell how it is being used?

A  Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-200 F4   lens is one of the first Panasonic L-mount lenses.
So  "older"  lenses, at least not related to L-mount as it comes to Panasonic lenses itself.
(E.g. also the Panasonic 24-105mm/F4.0  lens only have an  on / off  image stabilisation button at the lens itself).

Looking to the  < user manual - PDF English >  -  page 61      of a  Leica CL  camera.
The in camera image stabilisation setting, is just  "On" (Auto)  or  "Off"

But looking to  Panasonic  L-mount  camera models, the in-camera stabilisation options,
there are far more settings possible related to image stabilisation, panning options, and e.g related which lens is used.
- Panning left / right
- Panning up / down

E.g. check for the older Panasonic S1R camera     < user manual - PDF English >  -  page 172 - 177

Today new Panasonic camera models even have more options, as e.g. including anamorphic lenses.
    Check For the newer Panasonic S1R-II model   < user manual - PDF English >  -  page 311 - 317

So it is just the Leica CL itself, that limits the possibilities as for image stabilisation.

Apparently on the CL, even though the 70-200 f2.8 has a panning setting on the switch, it doesn't function. I don't know about the Sigma's but suspect it may not. Kudos to Panasonic for providing such detailed information.
