sreeves Posted September 27 Share #1 Posted September 27 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have 3 Leica R3's each with different markings on the bottom of the chassis. It looks like the two from Germany have a Special Markings showing a grouping of 20 or so each to put them in a L E I C A batch similar to the way the anniversary or special addition cameras have. The Portugal R3 does not have this additional marking. Another feature that I noticed on each of the inside of the bottom plate the German cameras are painted black. The Portugal camera is silver (no paint). #1446016 (Germany), Markings L , G & 1406 #1446085 (Germany), Markings A, G & 1663 #1446913 (Portugal). Markings P & 7878 Any information on the correct understanding of these markings would be great. Welcome, dear visitor!
