Giorgis Posted September 21 Share #1 Posted September 21 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone had a problem with loss/breakage of the spring in the hot-shoe of the M11 Monochrom? I went out in the field to take some photographs and used a Leica SF-60 flash. I removed the flash and replaced the thumb grip back onto the hotshoe and it was very loose. When I returned home, I realised that the spring in the hotshoe was missing (maybe broken off or detached.) Is there a part number that I could order to replace it? Would it be an easy thing to do or would I have to send it to Leica for repairs? Any ideas of a spare part number that I could order. erl Posted September 21 Share #2 Posted September 21 Leica have been very poor on design application with hot shoe build. The M10 has a ridiculously weak spring in the hot shoe. I have lost three external VF's because of it. Leica service claimed to have fixed it, but no. I now jam a small piece of electrical tape in the slot to tighten whatever is fitted in there. Earlier camera models had good fitting hot shoes. Why did Leica change it? Very poor QC. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
