I just bought a preowned Leica Elmarit 1:2.8 / 24mm ASPH (11878) that came with a click on lens hood. As I am now more and more using a yellow filter I found that I can either have the lens hood on or the filter (B+W 022 Yellow 495).  Do I muss something or is there a special filter that does not protrude (which would mean it cannot be easily removed)?

Or is there a third party lens hood that wold work?

Thank you!

Solved it kinda brute force. I identified that the B+W filters outer diameter is just .2mm too big. Screwed it on a adapter ring, fixed to my little Proxxon lathe and took off .3mm.

Now the filter has a nice brass shiny touch which is hidden under the hood anyway and the hood now fits perfectly.

Thanks for posting about this issue.  I have the same lens and hood, I've not had any problems using it with a Leica UVa filter but haven't tried any other filters on it...now I know what to expect or maybe look-out for.  Those little locating protrusions at the top and bottom of the hood do require a bit of clearance for it to attach correctly.

Well, they end up in a ring that the filter must go through. That is why I needed to bring down the entire diameter down to 57.5mm so it clears these two protrusions and the ring that follows.
