Hi,

I have a Q2 and a Q3 43. Both have Helium Design grips which adds a little to their size. I'm looking for a bag that could carry both with ease of removal. I'd like something as light as possible yet protective, capable of cross shoulder carry and water resistant (water proof preferred). I suspect I might be looking for the Unicorn of bags. I've looked t the bag threads a bit, but nothing seemed to fit the bill. Your thoughts and suggestions would be most welcome.

Rene

Billingham Hadley Pro, with FibreNyte light and water resistant material and protective top flap without any zippers.

I use the Hadley small…it fits my Q, a Leica film camera, small flash and a small tabletop tripod.

Being a bag junkie I'll give it some thought.  That said, remember that they are best carried on their backs - lens pointing up.

Social media myth. No validity to that claim whatsoever. Do the Leica boxes say “This way up only”? Surely Leica would insist if this Social media myth were actually true.

I carry two Qs with grips in an Ona Bowery, on their sides.

I've searched the net for an hour and it seems Benutzer is correct.  I remember reading this a few years ago on a site and source I usually trust as I don't care for social media.  I started carrying and storing my cameras on their back LCD down.  I'll gladly go back to carrying on its side.  That said I may find time to send the question to Leica support or call one of the stores.  Thank you Benutzer.

A Think Tank Retrospective Series 7  will work. I use both included dividers, back to back to divide the main compartment into 2 equal parts. There is a front pocket for other stuff.  Works cross body. It is made of a canvas type material and is water resistant to a point but comes with a rain cover. Has a protective front flap and Velcro closures but has built in Velcro silencers that can be used. My bag is the first version. They come in green or black.

So the net is the source of absolute truths? It’s an urban myth. Absolutely no truth to it whatsoever. Can you point to a statement from Leica AG that says cameras should be stored and handled this way? What happens when you use a neck strap and the camera is vertical? Or on a wrist strap? Or for shipping? Don’t you think a) Leica would have told its customers and supply chain? b) that they would have engineered out this problem long ago? c) why does only Leica suffer from this problem?

OP wants water protection. ONA has gaps at top corners, unlike the superior Billingham top flap design.
