Jeffry Abt Posted August 29 Share #1  Posted August 29 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Vladislava Závodská has showcased some exceptional photographs in the Leica online gallery. You can find them here: https://lfi-online.de/en/gallery/vladislava-z-c3-a1vodsk-c3-a1-595832/thambar-9cm-f2-2-2f-1938.html   These images were captured using the modern Thambar 90 f/2.2 lens. I must say, I’ve never fully appreciated the capabilities of this lens until now. Upon closer examination, it appears that the images were captured using the vintage lens. Bikie John Posted August 30 Share #2 Â Posted August 30 Lovely stuff. There is a thread in this section of the forum called something like "Thambar crazy" that has some very nice work. I think the Thambar needs a very specific skill set to get interesting results, John
johnkunstadter Posted August 30 Share #3  Posted August 30 Thank you for the link, Jeffry. Varied, skillful and thoughtful use of the lens. Two questions: (1) Some of the photos show a focal length different from 90; how does that work? (2) Leica cautions against using the center spot filter above f6.3 in order to avoid a darkened center. She shot a fair number of photos stopped down to f9 or above. If she didn't use the filter for those shots, how did she still obtain the doughnut-ringed points of light?
Sharpdressed Posted August 30 Share #4  Posted August 30 The M240 is still a pretty nice camera too!
Dazzajl Posted August 30 Share #5 Â Posted August 30 Really incredible work and such beautiful handling of a lens that will clearly work against you given the chance.
