Advertisement Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Hi erl, Take a look here Is it really Winter?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gbealnz Posted August 29 Share #2 Posted August 29 Some would say "Global Warming" LOL. We were in your fair city a few months ago, and then back across to visit Adelaide a few weeks ago, both times with plenty of warm clothing. None of which got used. Spring has sprung this side of the Tasman.
Photar Posted August 29 Share #3 Posted August 29 Don’t know, I can’t get used to Melbourne winter morning temperatures. Way too cold for my taste. That woman is not representative of any Melburnians I know.
Chris W Posted August 29 Share #4 Posted August 29 Well sure, but Sydney has had it's coolest, wettest Winter for many years and only a few weeks ago there were pictures all over the news of heavy snow falls in South East Australia. Not doubting the impacts of climate change at all, but it can lead to colder, wetter weather as well as hotter than normal.
erl Posted August 29 Author Share #5 Posted August 29 A complete turnaround now. Very high damaging winds overnight. Trees down, power outages etc. Starting to ease now. I believe the same in Sydney. So far, my only damage is an outside blind come adrift from its fixing. Cold again. Will walk the dog to check the fury on the bay and then home to attend to minor repairs. Chris W Posted August 30 Share #6 Posted August 30 One of the things we have enjoyed about moving back to the UK is not having to worry (too often) about extreme weather events. UK weather is generally pretty boring. In the ten years down under we experienced regular floods, heatwaves over 45c, nearby bush fires, dust storms etc.
