Trevor432990 Posted August 20 Share #1  Posted August 20 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently acquired a rather unusual accessory which I later found out is a Leitz SDOOG Snap Tripod Head Quick Release (see photos). Unfortunately it turned out to be 50% of the item or BOTTOM PART ONLY which screws onto the tripod so I am now on the hunt for the top part which attaches to the camera (marked MISSING in the photos) which has a standard mount thread on the other side which is not visible. Would love to hear if anyone here has one or has any suggestions on where I can go to find it please ?  Cheers Trevor    Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Hi Trevor432990, Take a look here Leitz SDOOG Snap Tripod Head Quick Release - Find the other half ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
alan mcfall Posted August 20 Share #2  Posted August 20 Over the years, I've added a few of these to my collection. SDOOG, variations include, nickel vs. Chrome finish, 1/4 vs 3/8 thread and lettering with Block "Ernst Leitz Wetzlar" vs the standard condenser logo containing E. Leitz Wetzlar. The nickle ones seem more common than chrome, even though production continued into the early 50's. Unfortunately, I am also missing 2 top plates, one nickel and one chrome. Also shown is the ZTNOO adapter to convert 1/4 to 3/8 thread or also the other way.  Welcome, dear visitor! Trevor432990 Posted August 21 Author Share #3  Posted August 21 Amazing that is quite a collection there. Out of interest does the top plate have any branding on it ? If not, that might explain how they became separated and do not appear in the marketplace very often. Anyway I am advertising mine on eBay now to try and pair it off somehow but will continue searching in the meantime. Giuliobigazzi Posted August 21 Share #4  Posted August 21 No branding on that part, that’s probably why they get lost..
