Leica flashes are quite expensive, and third-party options don’t support TTL. So, I’m considering buying a used Leica flash. After searching, I found some discontinued models like the SF24D. I’m wondering if these discontinued flashes can still be repaired.

Do Leica flashes always have to be sent back to Germany for repairs, or are there other countries or service centers that handle the repairs?

Also, for newer models like the SF40, if repairs are needed, do they also require sending the unit back to Germany?

Since used flashes have been in use for a while and are out of warranty, repair costs are an important factor to consider.

If anyone has experience with repairs, could you please share common issues and the typical costs involved?

If the repair and shipping fees end up being too high, I might just buy a new one.

Thanks!
