photonc Posted August 7 Share #1 Posted August 7 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just received my D-Lux and when I try to edit the RAW files Adobe Color isn't showing up on the list. Only Adobe standard and Adaptive. Anyone else experience this? Seems strange as all my other cameras offer Adobe Color in the drop down. Love the colors from JPEG but the RAW files look pretty bad without without the adobe color option profile. Has anyone created any profiles or presets that create a good starting point to match the jpeg colors?

In Lightroom classic I see these profiles in the drop down with Adobe Color as default: Welcome, dear visitor! magowitten Posted August 7 Share #4 Posted August 7 I'm using LRC actual versión. Open 'Browse' and you will find a lot of more profiles.
photonc Posted August 7 Author Share #5 Posted August 7 I'm using the latest version of LRC but when I use the drop down I only see a few selections. If I browse, Adobe Color isn't an option. @Alexander108 I'm wondering how you are able to see those choices in your version. I talked with another D-Lux owner and he also doesn't see them either. I actually did not do anything. Are you sure this is a DNG? If you shoot DNG+JPG and they are in the same folder, LR may see the JPG first. If the parallel JPG is in place move it somewhere else and see if this changes anything. I shoot RAW / DNG only with no JPG. JPG does not have this profile afaik. photonc Posted August 7 Author Share #7 Posted August 7 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interesting, I shoot RAW + Jpeg. I will try only shooting raw and see if it resolves this issue.
Alexander108 Posted August 7 Share #8 Posted August 7 Just remove the JPG in the LR folder
photonc Posted August 7 Author Share #9 Posted August 7 @Alexander108 I formatted the card and shot in RAW only. But I still see these as my only options. Even if I browse the adobe profiles shown in your screenshot they still aren't available. For all of my other cameras they show up. Welcome, dear visitor! The JPG thing was something I stumbled over. As this is nothing that is per se related to the DL8 (as it works in my case) you may want to consider reaching out in an Adobe LR forum. Good luck! photonc Posted August 7 Author Share #11 Posted August 7 So I have figured out the issue. The Dlux-8 does have the Adobe LR Color profiles, however for whatever reason Adobe hasn't updated their software to recognize the D-Lux 8 100 years edition which I have. I reached out to Adobe and Leica but there currently isn't an ETA. If anyone has contacts at either company please raise awareness of this issue. photonc Posted August 9 Author Share #12 Posted August 9 I went even further down the rabbit hole and learned how to modify a DCP file for the D-Lux 8 and matched it to the DLux 8 100 year edition. Now it just works on import like normal. For anyone reading this with a D-Lux 8 100 year edition that needs Adobe Color, you can use this link to download the DCP. After downloading, simply import it using File- Import Develop Presets and Profiles. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/qtddkcn95i1wjd6ci9la7/LEICA-D-Lux-8-Adobe-Standard_1.dcp?rlkey=72oym1jrttqmb5c6nftcfahoh&st=23hvd3tm&dl=

I'd love to try to modify the NAT and Mono from the D-Lux 7. It might not work, but it could be worth a try.
photonc Posted August 14 Author Share #15 Posted August 14 @davidzvi I used an app called dcpTool to decompile the DCP to an XML. I then edit the XML and use the app to recompile into a DCP. I can try to create those profiles for you. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dcptool/id1207547916?mt=12

Wonder what would happen if I took the LR Fuji Classic Chrome and changed the camera tags.
photonc Posted August 14 Author Share #17 Posted August 14 @davidzvi Try this profile with your D-Lux 8. Just import it using File- Import Develop Presets and Profiles. I was able to get the Ricoh GR Film Positive to work with my D-Lux 8 so there is a chance you could get the FJ Classic Chrome working. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dcshcciopnxhzoeiq7qfp/Leica-D-Lux-7-Camera_Natural_v2_1.dcp?rlkey=glotnmd4q9zhonhfe721u4i5v&st=xu45d4ie&dl=
photonc Posted August 14 Author Share #18 Posted August 14 I tested the profile and it does work so you get the NAT Dlux-7 profile profile on your D-Lux 8
davidzvi Posted August 16 Share #19 Posted August 16 @photonc I think I'm getting it, and the profiles do help. They aren't an exact match, DNG to JPEG. But I have to do some more testing and make sure I don't have things like iDR impacting exposure.
