Gillian Posted August 4 Share #1 Posted August 4 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, My one year old Q3 recently glitched out on me whilst I was reformatting my SD card in camera. I had a message asking me to turn the camera off and on again. I did this and then received an auto focus error message. My camera is now stuck in a loop. I have removed battery, waited and then turned on. I have connected to power and done the same. My camera is still ‘bricked.’ The camera was running up to date firmware and an Sandisk high speed card. I’m really disappointed that the simple task of reformatting an add card could make my camera fall over in such a way. Anyone experienced a similar issue with their Q3? Welcome, dear visitor! JNK100 Posted August 4 Share #2 Posted August 4 I have never had this happen. Have you tried resetting the camera?
LocalHero1953 Posted August 4 Share #3 Posted August 4 Options include: try a different SD card reformatted first with SD Formatter then in camera; remove battery and leave it out for 48 hrs then try again; factory reset. If these don't work, then it's broken: repair or replacement.
Le Chef Posted August 4 Share #4 Posted August 4 Check to make sure the lens is not stuck between manual and autofocus, or that the macro ring has not been turned slightly. As others have said, if that doesn’t work, try a different card and do a full reset of the camera.

Le Chef Posted August 4 Share #6 Posted August 4 Pull the battery. Reinsert the battery. Switch on. Hold down the shutter button. That should give you are hard reset to factory settings.

Gillian Posted August 8 Author Share #8 Posted August 8 Thanks for all your input. None of this worked so it is back with Leica for assessment and repair.
