If your Leica S battery charger stop working when power it with AC power (120/240V), try to use DC (12/24) power

Most Leica S battery chargers I have seen, including 16011, 16050, 16009, have two power inputs, one labeled 120/240V, 50/60Hz, for AC power input, the other labeled 12/24V for DC power input, except some 16009 for European that does not have DC power input.

If your charger stop working, try to use the other power input. In my case, I use either the car cigarette power (with proper DC output shape) or an external AC to DC adapter that converts AC power to 12V DC. You might want to try it to see if you can bring its life back.

Avoid using the charger for more than 4 hours. Usually it should reach full charge within 2 hours. I have a timer that would turn of the power after 4 hours to let is rest for half an hour.

Ignore anyone if you are told charging battery more than 12 jours or so could reset the battery and give it better life. It is simply not true. Absolutely not true.

Not sure about that. My dual charger (16011) has an AC input and a DC input. Same for the single chargers (at least the 16009), where the AC input is hardwired, with the DC input taking a barrel connector.
