For the people who don't understand what we hope for and think the camera is perfect as it is, well, please, try to understand that what you think isn't necesarily universal, even if the majority of the forum users think (or expresse it) the same as you. I hope there is space here for everybody like us who own and use those great tools, even if we think they can be improved a little bit.

Uhhh, not to pick nits..but your argument can be turned back on you...what you want isn't necessarily universal...again there are likely many cameras out there that will fulfill your criteria, you could always choose one of them,

I suspect that the resolution of the EVF, refresh rates and processing power can't handle that level of cropping while you have moving objects you are trying to focus on.

this is certainly not the case since the video mode can display the cropped image in the viewfinder during active video (4k30) and that needs more processing power than just displaying a cropped image in the viewfinder.

I agree with what localhero said - this is a design decision only and has nothing to do with the hardware in the Q3/43. We don't have to agree with Leica, I certainly don't agree and would much prefer to see what I get with the crop modes. I'd like them to implement a whole set of changes to the firmware and have written their support multiple times but never got a reply and don't expect to hear from them ever - the camera sells regardless.
