Advertisement Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Hi SpotmaticSP, Take a look here Leica II with Strap Lugs - customization?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
probert Posted July 22 Share #22  Posted July 22 Here's my Leica I A., # 50356, with strap lugs. Leica just informed me that the camera was shipped from the factory in December 1930. It came back in September 1936 for an unspecified repair, which probably was or included adding the strap lugs. The camera is still in perfect working condition. Welcome, dear visitor! lmans Posted July 31 Share #23  Posted July 31 I have one just like that....also from 1930. Mine has no lugs for straps so I don't believe anything was done to it. I also have the same lens cap. Mine will fall off from time to time and needs more felt etc to tighten up. Does your have that problem and if so, I don't think it would be difficult to replace felt.

It was in a kit with an ETRIN case and some FILCAs. This is a known variation. They are somewhat lower than strap lugs were on later models - we had a thread about this here some years ago. I also have a II Model D from 1932 which has strap lugs added later, possibly when some other alterations were made to the body e.g. wind knob. William
