Has anyone modified their Steel-rim Summilux re-issue to prevent the OLLUX slipping off so easily ?

It seems the hood is quite solidly attached when pulled orthogonally in and out from the lens, but it only takes a few degrees of rotation and the hood unclips. This box of this lens is dated 18th December 2024.

The slot channel on the rim of the lens is contoured to allow the hood clips to rotate into place; the issue seems to be that the length of this channel is too short.

If the slot profile was extended, made longer before it shallowed out, the hood rotation before unclipping could be increased.

Anyone done this, perhaps at the same time as close focus modifications ?

Can anyone take similar close ups of a original 1960’s lens; that would confirm if the master engineers of the day had the insight.

This probably something I could do with even with a non-CNC mill e.g. a tabletop Sherline mill plus a rotary table ( at least testing the principle on a piece of stock aluminum bar )

Another possible modification would be to drill the hood and tap threads, so a locking screw could be added to prevent rotation.
