JohnGregory Posted January 9, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can anyone help me to find copies of the cut away diagrams in colour of the R series cameras . They have been used in books and some Leitz/Leica publications and I presume were originally commissioned by Leitz/Leica. I want nice quality copies to put in the display cases I have for my Leicaflex/Leica R collection. I have approached Leica who say they have no copies of them (can they really have thrown them away?) and scanning from a book will not give a very good quality image. They are remarkably well done and the artist (whoever he or she was) deserves some recognition. However as is usually the way with commercial art, the hard working, and skillful artist gets neither fame or much of a fee. So can anyone out there help me? Advertisement Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Hi JohnGregory, Take a look here Cut away camera diagrams. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hunterits Posted January 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2008 John: I don't know where you can get a good image/diagram of the R system cut-away out side of those found in the literature. However, why not take a digital image of the image in a book....the quality should be more than adequate for your collection and with a bonus of having taken the image with Leica equipment! You should be able to clean up any defects to the image in photoshop. John
JohnGregory Posted January 11, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted January 11, 2008 Good idea, John. The irony will be that my digital pictures will be taken with a F*j* camera and not a Leica. The revenge of the artist?
dkCambridgeshire Posted January 12, 2008 Share #4 Posted January 12, 2008 Have a look every week at MW Classic website in their "Advertising and Display" section MW Classic Cameras There is not much there at the moment but occasionally they have items possibly suitable for your purposes ... they had some red Leitz camera display stands a few weeks back ... dunk
jlancasterd Posted January 12, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2008 John I have copies of the diagrams for the R6 and M6. I could do high resolution scans on my CanoScan 9900F flatbed and either email them or send you a CD.
JohnGregory Posted January 14, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks for the help on this, I will look at MW. I have bought from them in the past for my Kodak Retina Reflex collection ( am I allowed to say that here?). It would be most helpful if I could have a hi-res scan, how do we arrange that. I am a new boy here and don't quite know how to arrange it.
