TopDownDriver Posted June 25 Share #1 Posted June 25 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just picked up the lens "used". When the lens is off the camera, can feel moment in the lens. Wondering if this is normal? When mounted to the camera there is no such movement. Just checking as I have a short window if I wish to return it. Thanks
Advertisement Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Hi TopDownDriver, Take a look here Question: Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
georgecp Posted June 25 Share #2 Posted June 25 I have had mine for quite a while, and feel the same movement when not mounted on the camera. It is an excellent lens.
Simone_DF Posted June 25 Share #3 Posted June 25 That is normal and it's due to the focus motors that doesn't lock the lens floating elements. It happens in other lenses from other brands too.
carlosgavina Posted July 2 Share #4 Posted July 2 I have some Sigma lenses that do this — I don't have the 50 1.2 though.
Donald M Posted July 2 Share #5 Posted July 2 I checked with Sigma when I bought this lens and they said it was normal.
