Hello all,

I try to build a rig with the SL3 for extreme macro/micro photography. All things ready, except that the photos are not saved on the cards? So the remote trigger gives a signal to the camera, the screen goes black for second and that many times.... but no photos are written to the cards. Strange... I probably do something wrong with the settings.

Hello Paul, thank you for your fast response. BTW I am Willem S, but had to adjust my account due to password issue and not existing e-mailaddress…

I had the lens on manual focus, that did not work. It’s a sigma 105mm L-mount. I can’t turn the lens at manual in the camera I think. But… I tried it with autofocus mode, and surprisingly this works. But its not what I need, because I use the setup for the stacking rig and then it is necessary to have manual focus….

Interesting, will try the Aurogon set later on today. Thats not focusing at all 😉

I tried all settings and not successful yet... any suggestions? Tried manual focus, autofocus etc. The screen flashes, but the image is not written to the storage. I'm curious if somebody has the remote release and is capable of measuring the output on the plug.... might be the connector that I had to make myself.

Hi Wilem,

I shoot macros too, but I normally shoot outfield.  For the trigger,  there is no need to fabricate your own.   I'm using the same set up as yours,  SL3 with the L-Mount Sigma 105mm.

I have 3 triggers, the Leica RC-SCL6, Godox TR and this Aodelan for my macros.

Essentially, I found out you can use almost any triggers as long as you have a 3.5mm jack with 3 black rings on the jack.

As to why your images are not stored,  what are your settings?

Have you tried taking the cards out and put it into the computer to see if there are files being written with the date and time stamp?
