Definitely expensive. The M to L adapter has the sensor to read the lens bar code which is good but I’m wondering what, if anything, the R to L adapter offers? R2L offers the readout of aperture and lens information, but no digital aperture control. That of course only works with R lenses providing that interface (contacts). I think the Novoflex R2M adapter is sufficient. IIRC it is even coded as an R adapter.
Advertisement Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Hi Photon42, Take a look here SL 24-90 - still a good option today?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Capnord Posted November 16 Share #162 Posted November 16 (edited) I just found a used one, not too expensive and in perfect condition. I was a little worried about its weight, but I don't find it that heavy (with a Peak Design harness across my shoulder). The mechanism is wonderfully smooth. As for the image, what a luscious picture! It's sharp without distortion, but with plenty of presence. I'm thrilled. First pix yesterday in Bénodet, Brittany, France (SL2-S + ISO 800 + f4 + rainy weather). Welcome, dear visitor! thelivingyears Posted Sunday at 02:50 PM Author Share #168 Posted Sunday at 02:50 PM Just a test shot. However, I find it astonishing how consistently round the bokeh remains right to the edge of the frame. And that's with a zoom lens. In this case, a 90mm f/4. Welcome, dear visitor! IkarusJohn Posted Sunday at 06:17 PM Share #169 Posted Sunday at 06:17 PM A question for SL 24-90 zoom users. I’ve split my lens hood. Has anyone tried an alternative to the rather ugly, expensive Leica hood?

LocalHero1953 Posted Monday at 12:37 PM Share #175 Posted Monday at 12:37 PM Mine has a crack in it from when it was knocked over on a low tripod by an enthusiastic toddler. The hood tool the brunt of the impact and the lens was unharmed. I used a bit of glue to stabilise the crack, but I'm happy for it to retain its battle scars. A smaller one might allow more peripheral light in - prettiness is not a priority in comparison to shading and protection.
Photon42 Posted Monday at 03:45 PM Share #176 Posted Monday at 03:45 PM The 24-90 hood has a similar design as some of the S lenses. Glued / welded together horizontally. That's where they then crack. As opposed to most others, I like the original hood ...

I would like something smaller, though.
