Looking for advice: I was able to purchase one of the 100 NY editions that are now sold out.  Should I keep the box sealed and put it away or use it?

If I had that camera unopened in my possession it would continuously whisper in my ear to open it.  I know my resolve to preserve it unopened would lose.  

Investing in investment instruments such as stocks (here in the US) would net greater gains than a Leica body, unopened, new in box, imho.

It's yours, do what you want with it. It will probably appreciate in value either way. I am a collector myself and I have maybe 50 or 60 Leicas, but this item would not interest me at all from a collection point of view. I would view an item like this as a 'user item'. Someone else might take a different perspective. Sorry not to be more 'helpful', but this is really a matter for yourself to decide.
