L. Foonimin Posted June 8 Share #1 Posted June 8 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it safe to use an Apple Magsafe Battery Bank to charge my Leica Q3 43 via a 3-4inch USB-C cable in my bag? Any issues with camera's internal circuitry or SD Card? Thanks in advance LF
Advertisement Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Hi L. Foonimin, Take a look here Apple Magsafe Battery Bank near to Leica Q3 43?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Cogito Posted June 9 Share #2 Posted June 9 I personally wouldn’t plug my Leica into a usb-c cable while it’s in a bag regardless of which battery bank you’re using. It’ll likely get jostled around and damage the camera’s usb-c connection. I find a single battery lasts all day long, as long as you don’t need bluetooth/wifi connection constantly on, so no need to charge in the field. RQ44 Posted June 9 Share #3 Posted June 9 I have travlled with a 20000 mah powerbank and charged my Q3 on the move. I would not do it in a backpack though. While on a long train ride I kept my Q3 and powerbank on the foldup tray table on the seat or in my lap.
reemas Posted June 10 Share #4 Posted June 10 I’ve wondered the same. I have an Anker MagGo that I keep in a small Wotancraft 3.5L bag next to my Q3 43. No issues so far. I am gonna assume it’s fine tbh.
garygraphy Posted June 22 Share #5 Posted June 22 No problem... I've been doing so. The only concern is if you're doing in an hot environment.
LocalHero1953 Posted June 22 Share #6 Posted June 22 (edited) Anything involving charging gives out heat. Putting it in a bag stops that heat dissipating. I would not do this - I'd be scared of a fire - or heat damage to the devices. Edited June 22 by LocalHero1953
