stevesurf Posted June 7 Share #1 Posted June 7 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello WATE fans! This article just dropped on DC Studios CEO James Gunn and his use of the Leica Wide Angle Tri-Elmar as used with the RED Cine camera. Gunn has set the stage for a global celebration of the Man of Steel, announcing that Superman will hit theaters in both the USA and China onJuly 11, 2025. For months we’ve known the WATE would be used in the movie, but not how extensive, and how rendering on IMAX will be accomplished. What’s interesting is that the “rare” lens is shown without hood, most likely inaccurate! Link to the article “We Saw ‘Superman’ Trailer in IMAX, and Noticed Something Beautiful: Film Grain” Also, some good news for WATE owners: the company OTECT will be introducing a new “M Cap” lens cap for use with its hood. I have their caps for LEICA SUPER-ELMAR-M 21mm f/3.4 ASPH, 35mm F/1.4 Summilux-M and latest version 28 Elmarit M & 35 Summicron. Their fit is well worth the price, as it forms a seal with the hood, yet removes fast. 2
