Einst_Stein Posted June 2 Share #1 Posted June 2 Advertisement (gone after registration) Found a lot from amazon, but at least some of them are made of PVC. What would you recommend?
Advertisement Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Hi Einst_Stein, Take a look here Recommend art portfolio Achival folder for 8.5x11 photos. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
graphlex Posted June 3 Share #2 Posted June 3 B&H has lots of choices in this category, including paper folders and archival boxes. PrintFile seems to be a good supplier for such items.

Jeff S Posted June 3 Share #4 Posted June 3 Just now, Pieter12 said: https://www.archivalmethods.com/category/onyx-portfolio-boxes Beat me to it… they have many options, from boxes to binders to sleeves, etc… in many sizes. But I also like to support my local art supply stores, which allow me to experiment with options before deciding.
Einst_Stein Posted June 3 Author Share #5 Posted June 3 Thanks a lot. Two questions: 1, on the box type, do they come with page to page dividers? Is it necessary? 2: on the folder type, do they come as refillable? I don’t see the price for refill sheet.

I recently ran out of clear portfolio sleeves with holes specifically for large portfolio cases with binder rings that I bought from Archival Methods years ago. The binders were discontinued and replaced with those with different ring configuration. I went to my local supply store and found the original brand on close out, and bought I think at least $125 worth for 8 bucks. Also, it’s hard to assess quality without handling in person. Clear sleeves, for instance, vary in feel, ease of use, transparency, etc. But Archival Methods generally stocks good options for all sorts of storage and presentation. Another option is Blick, which also has stores in various locations.. https://www.dickblick.com/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=4320344&gbraid=0AAAAAD_wX_Gud9mSIa6bh1kvLHfXP1oXS&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqJ3hucXVjQMV_0dHAR1gMTZLEAAYASAREgJHbvD_BwE Edited June 3 by Jeff S
Einst_Stein Posted June 3 Author Share #7 Posted June 3 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today’s cyber shopping makes local store very hard to survive. Many old timer popular stores around me in San Francisco and San Jose are out of business, The stores still survive sometimes do not have what I wanted, I have to try several stores. Amazon, B&H, Aliexpress are more likely to find but as you pointed out, it is hard to judge the quality of a new item that I have not used without putting on hand. B&H is better than Amazon, at least they have chat service, but it seems the choices of some categories, such as portfolio storage, are less and less. I got burnt by purchasing a less-expensive portfolio box from B&H. Stick with an established brand like Archival Methods or Lineco. The offerings from Blick are good too if you just need archival storage. They don’t look as nice for presentation as the Onyx boxes from Archival Storage. And none comes with interleaving paper or tissue but that is pretty cheap to buy.

People exist at Archival Methods.. https://www.archivalmethods.com/help-center/contact-us?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=445266023&gbraid=0AAAAAD_wOyMZSmNKCv_NyrUvd1ekNPHnY&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIo-7mm_fVjQMVemNHAR3sxSFREAAYASACEgLfNfD_BwE Blick has a store in SF. And a quick search shows other Bay Area art supply stores. I used to live there, but my smaller metro area on the east coast has several options. Stores are still around.
