Punit Posted June 2 Share #1 Posted June 2 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just bought the Leica Q3 in India and realised that it doesn’t come with the battery charger. So wanted to know if it’s advisable to charge the battery directly through camera 1st time or wait for charger to arrive?! Thank you.

JNK100 Posted June 2 Share #2 Posted June 2 I don't think it will make any difference. Enjoy your splendid camera!
Qwertynm Posted June 2 Share #3 Posted June 2 I bought the Q3 on release day and never charged the battery outside the camera. Just plug in a USB-C cable and charge the battery - the external charger is optional imho.

Le Chef Posted June 2 Share #5 Posted June 2 I have always charged the battery in camera.
AdrianTurner Posted June 3 Share #6 Posted June 3 I'd advise you to buy a spare battery - this camera is very hungry, especially if you connect to the App. And I find I need the charger in many situations.
jlnevill Posted June 3 Share #7 Posted June 3 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree with AdrianT, the camera is very hungry when using the Fotos app. I took two batteries away on a 3 week road trip and only used the app to review some of the images at the end of days. I switched the app off during the day and captured 500 images and only did one "in camera" top up charge over this period. I also found that the battery charges faster in camera.
