SOHODE Posted May 20 Share #1 Posted May 20 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sharing my annoying experience here. I sold a Leica universal wide-angle viewfinder for $650. It was in almost new condition, and my listing included clear photos and a video of the brightlines, no issues at all when it left my hands. After delivery, the buyer claimed there was a “scratch” on the 28mm brightline but said it was impossible to photograph. He opened a return case under “defective item,” which forces a return even if you mark it as no returns. When I got the item back, I inspected it carefully and — as expected — there was absolutely nothing wrong. I took new photos and a video and sent them to him, showing the 28mm brightline was totally clean. Instead of admitting anything, he zoomed into the photo I sent after the return and pointed at some barely visible mark, saying that if he sold the finder in the future, he’d lose money because of it. Basically just doubling down to justify returning it. I share his zoomed screenshot. This put me out shipping costs both ways, wasted time, and now I have to relist the item — all for a bogus claim. Just a warning: even with photo and video proof, some buyers will find any excuse to force a return. Photos and video link attached below. Welcome, dear visitor! SOHODE Posted May 20 Author Share #2 Posted May 20 33 minutes ago, Al Brown said: When selling on the bay one must know that REGARDLESS of what you write about no returns the buyer can ALWAYS pull a "not as described" thing in 30 days even when there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with the item and you are OBLIGED to pay the return postage and take it back for a refund. Ebay always sides with the buyer on this one. These terms and conditions are agreed upon when one creates a seller account.
