I recently pulled the trigger on a good quality used Q2, and so far it's mighty impressive. Using it is a pleasure, and early impressions are that the image quality can hang with the best cameras I've used. Haven't yet really compared it closely to the previous holders of that record (Fuji and Hasselblad MF digital), but it certainly seems to be in that general ballpark, and has the advantage of portability / lightness. Also been perfectly reliable so far (touches wood), while my experience with the Hasselblad X1D was anything but that, and while the Fuji was reliable, it was kind of boring to use.

I've also used the SL2 and SL2-S before, which use the same battery, and it could be my imagination, but the battery life on the Q2 seems a fair bit better than on those two. I picked up a spare battery, but generally one fully charged one seems to be easily enough for a day of shooting. I'm not a very heavy shooter, and I tend to turn the camera off between shots, but with the SL models I was seeing fairly fast battery drain. The Q2 seems to drain quite a bit slower. I use manual focusing and hyperfocal a lot, so I'm also not engaging the AF much, which might also be a factor.

Anyone else come across this? And if so, any ideas why? Body size only? I mean the sensor is the same size and presumably the EVF / screen use up a more or less similar amount of power.

Shooting in DNG format I get about 300 shots on a charge with my Q2M. I agree that it it generally handles a delay worth of shooting. After a year of using the Leica battery that came with the camera it's still working great.
