TBH, haven't noticed any differences yet....anyone found any?   (same on my M11 monochrome......updated but no obvious changes to my eye yet )

edit.....sems it has something to do with power use...hopefully may improve battery duration on the D-Lux8 (though not expecting it)

Extra battery life would be a nice bonus, but I'm dubious. What I recall reading was it reduced current use when in stand-by mode. What is standby mode? Since the D-lux 8 has no sleep mode the only thing I can think of is if you set your screen auto-shutoff for a shorter period than camera auto-shut off. Maybe that's Standby mode. Either way, without a proper sleep mode, and lower current usage during sleep mode, I will see no benefit. I turn the camera on, take a pic, then turn it off. Lather-rinse-repeat. No Standby mode.

Bottom line, I don't need the update. The only problem I'm having with the camera is the spurious flashing blue light while accessing the menu system. It's already been confirmed the 1.5.0 does not rectify this odd behavior.

For me, I'll probably just wait a few weeks to see if the firmware has any bugs, before making the jump.

Cheers
