Kiwimac Posted May 9 Share #61 Posted May 9 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve always liked them but typically I find in my life that when I buy X, about a month later the manufacturer of X will announce a new and improved X. This is commonly found when I buy cameras or computers. This time, just for once, I was there with money when the new X came out! 🤣

AdrianTurner Posted May 9 Share #63 Posted May 9 This looks absolutely gorgeous. However, this is probably the last camera anyone going on a safari would take with them. For a safari you need a camera with wildlife focus detection and anything from a 400mm upwards so the name Safari is STUPID.

justj Posted May 9 Share #65 Posted May 9 Just ordered one even though I detest the magenta colour cast that M11 produces, but I do like the combination of green body, silver lens and cognac leather.

Just ordered one as well, selling my M10-R to pay for it. I saw a youtuber talking about that magenta cast. He put his M11 into full sun white balance and he felt it disappeared..I am going to miss the sensor of the M10-R though!

Having grown up with film which was generally daylight balanced, it gives me the results that I expect. Only if the light source is obviously different do I change on the camera. Otherwise I tweak it in post if I need to.
RQ44 Posted May 9 Share #70 Posted May 9 Simply stunning colour. I would just love to own one, not to use, just to put it on display and admire it.

If you just want something to adorn your desk you don’t need to spend 10k. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1827746064/wooden-leica-iiif-replica-camera-model?gQT=1 Start here - cheaper, more classic and looks even better than vomit green if I’m being honest.

Leica has been releasing olive green cameras forever, so it's another color option for people who would want something beyond a black or silver camera. If you're trying to be sardonically funny, it's not working.

If you're trying to be sardonically funny, it's not working. They have, it’s true. But no, I’m quite serious - I think this is a much better tool both practically and aesthetically for the job of adorning a desk, at about 1% of the cost of the alternative. What’s not to appreciate? weatherproof Posted May 10 Share #74 Posted May 10 Some people like driving green cars; others like photographing with a green camera. Why should we be limited to a gray palette, Mr. Ford?
anonymoose Posted May 10 Share #75 Posted May 10 Big thank you to Leica for not releasing a Reporter and causing me to spend/lose a lot of money!
RQ44 Posted May 10 Share #76 Posted May 10 To the poster who called it vomit colour. I would hate to see what you eat. I think the colour is quite nice.
ALScott Posted May 10 Share #77 Posted May 10 Why hate on this option, that's all it is, an option. You don't have to buy it. I think it's pretty cool that a manufacturer makes something that no one else in the world makes and then offers variations of that item. I would imagine if you are carrying a Safari tons of people wouldn't even think it's a camera. A rangefinder is as unique as it gets and then to offer it in a variation that is not available by any other manufacturer in any camera in any fashion is a great move. Not everyone loves black on black in black. A lot of people have raged against white telephoto lenses for years and years but they keep buying them. It takes balls to deviate from black or silver/black. Just as @weatherproof said it's no different than a car color except this does give you a brass top plate which will eventually give the patina so many sand their cameras to get. 4
