The back looks just as weird with the silver buttons floating on the black. At least the M11-P doesn't have as much black plastic on the back as the M10-P did.

That isn’t plastic. Display frame and knob surroundings are all metal. At least on the M10

The front side and the top look great. But the back side with the black buttons and screen frame is IMHO a very severe design flaw.

That's why I would consider an M11-D Safari way more beautiful (with a silver ISO dial).

By the way, where's Jono's review?

No review needed as it's just a different colour....

Thanks for the correction. Still looks odd on the black surround even if it's metal, IMO.

Same price (£8,100) as M11-D in the UK.  That converts to $10,800 at current FX rates, but the dollar is weak at the moment.  Currency fluctuations aside, it looks reasonably competitive by Leica standards.  Shame you don't get the cognac leather strap included - some UK dealers already making that point clear on website ordering.

Just got back in from checking the back yard again.  Still no diamond mine.

Shit...  😟

USD dropped rather … and with a weak usd it’s going to be like that more and more … before eventual import tariffs

The price is where it is in the USA because of the tariffs, not because of the drop in the USD.

Weaker usd impacts price of Euro made imported goods for sure … tariffs are still to come, eventually,… 20pct means 2k roughly.

This is from the Leica Miami email:

"Leica Camera has announced, due to recently imposed tariffs, a price adjustment will go into effect starting this Thursday, May 1, 2025. The tariffs impact a broad range of products and retail pricing across much of the lineup.

Leica products received after May 1 will be subject to the new pricing structure. This includes items currently on backorder or special order that do not arrive prior to the deadline."

It is stated that the price increase is due to the tariffs.

Interesting, thanks, I thought tariffs were on hold for another couple of months

The strap is from the M11-D accessories, and it was also shown but not delivered with the D.

Yeah, but I meant that the M10-P Safari did come with a "Brandy-colored" strap (and a weird case for "sd cards or credit cards"), not a regular black strap as this sounds like it will.

Very nice! However I feel that from aesthetic point of view, if a black lens is mounted, it destroy the whole color harmony.

Possibly but some lenses are not actually available in silver, so it’s inevitable.

Hm the back has black buttons, didn't expect that! I kind of prefer the silver one they did on the M10-P Safari.

Green battery confirmed! Do we actually already know what the deal is with extra batteries for these special editions, like the glossy black paint to?

I don't think I will be able to justify it myself given my current line-up of cameras, but wish anyone who gets one a lot of fun with them!

I must say I prefer the black ones, but am not sure what I think about the colour. Does it really make it more unobtrusive, than a black one? I really don't get what makes it more special than a regular digital M.

I for one use my M10-P Safari (and before that Reporter) regularly as a photography producing money making tool, preferring this military matte green to regular silver chrome or black. Am I a snob because I like green color? Never judge others by your vision of the world.

Al, I don't think you're a snob,  not am I judging you by whatever vision I have of the world 😃 but  I am curious about why you prefer it. Is it perhaps that you find it more discreet? Just interested to hear!

I dont currently have an M camera. I shoot with a Q and sn SL3. So this will be my first M purchase. I knew I wanted a M11-P from all the reviews, etc. I was about to order the Black/Silver version when I got wind of a possible Safari option. I looked at previous Safari cameras and I liked the look of them so decided to go for that. On my part there was no snobbery. No feeling of FOMO if I did not place the order. Not sure if it is more discrete or not and personally I do not care too much. I just liked the look of it. TBH if the dealer had turned around to me and said I cannot get you the Safari edition I would have been extremely excited to take receipt of Silver/Black version.
