Leslie22 Posted May 1 Share #1 Posted May 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm using my Q3 43 as a fully manual camera (Focus sometimes auto) I've set the ISO to the top back wheel. It works well , but I've haven't seen any mention of setting the camera up this way anywhere. So Shutter speed manual , Aperture manual and ISO manual (I usually adjust ISO first if I want to make any changes, it's just a roll of my right thumb) So my question for mostly manual shooters , how do you set up ISO
Advertisement Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Hi Leslie22, Take a look here How do you adjust ISO in full Manual. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jared Posted May 1 Share #2 Posted May 1 I have mine set so the thumbwheel by itself adjusts over/under exposure, and pressing the button and using the thumb wheel adjusts ISO. I tend to leave mine in auto ISO, though, about 80% of the time, and jus watch to see what ISO was chosen based on my choice of aperture, shutter speed, and over/under exposure. - Jared
Chris W Posted May 1 Share #3 Posted May 1 On the M10 I have ISO set on the ISO knob (manual). I don't change ISO a lot. I probably set it for the day and adjust shutter speed and aperture for specific exposures.
Mikep996 Posted May 1 Share #4 Posted May 1 I do the same on my Q3 - set a fixed ISO, 200 for daylight shooting 1600 for eve/indoor low light. I also select the WB for the situation - daylight if I'm outside. I tried auto WB and though it worked fine for daylight I didn't care for its choice indoors under artificial light. Of course, that can be changed in post but I hate doing post so I want the out-of-the camera pic to be as close as possible to my intent.
Tarekith Posted May 1 Share #5 Posted May 1 I leave the top thumb wheel set to ISO, usually auto iso set to 100-400 unless it’s bright day light then it’s fixed at 100. For darker or night time images I’ll adjust manually higher if needed. WB always set too 5500K as I don’t like it when the Q43 is set to auto WB. Cogito Posted May 1 Share #6 Posted May 1 I set thumbwheel (no button push) to ISO, makes switching from auto ISO to a specific ISO quick/easy. I set thumbwheel button to exposure compensation (which I hardly ever change, mostly leave it on -2/3)
Le Chef Posted May 1 Share #7 Posted May 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) If I’m shooting certain types of images I will set aperture and shutter speed, and leave ISO on auto. Of the three, ISO is easiest to fix in Lightroom.
