I enjoy my Q3 43, but ever since getting it, the grey skin with cross-hatch pattern has left me wanting in the looks department.   I know with the weather-resistant qualities, having a synthetic skin makes sense, and the soft rubbery feel is a pleasant enough tactile sensation.  Nonetheless, after a 1/2 year I made the move.   Today my "shrenken calf" from Arte di Mano in Korea arrived.   I believe what they term shrenken is actually shrunken calf... and I spent the extra for this chromexcel tanned upgrade, made by Perlinger Leather in Germany.  The feel and look of the leather is really exceptional.  I'm about 99% satisfied with the fit... maybe 1mm short in a few spots, and if I were more experienced with this application, I suppose I could have stretched the skin.  But any gaps are only recognizable upon very close inspection.  Ripping off the grey skin took 5 minutes, but using acetone, q-tips and other various tools to remove the remaining glue took about 2.5 hours.   I then spent under 1/2 hour putting on the new skin.   From order to arrival took around 5 weeks, with total cost under $250 (including $55 for expedited shipping).

After seeing the result, I would do it again.  I'm very pleased with the result.
