All versions of Componons 60/5.6 are good for scanning? or need i stick with new ones?

Good evening, I'm looking for a Componon 60/5.6 for my Bowen illumitrans camera scan setup.

I saw some on eBay. What do you think of the earlier versions? Are they inferior to the latest, or is the entire Componon line similar? And is it just the illuminated diaphragm that's improved?

All versions should be similar optically.

Some early Componons used a smaller diameter mount than the standard L39. A 1960s 105 at my university darkroom was like that. Despite its age, it was as sharp as a modern lens.

Any lens with a black barrel (1970s onward) should fit without issue and perform well, as long as it hasn't been abused. Make sure that the glass is clear and that the aperture ring turns freely.

Thanks Bernard, i've tried to read all in the web, and as you say, the 60 maintains the optical design trough the years.

Just a comment from someone, nothing oficial, was that lasts vertions, were multicoated, and first ones not ( juat one coat)....we never know.

I feel a lens best for enlarger is not necessary best for scan.  Now my favorite scan lens is Apo-rodagon D 75mm f4,

I got it from an old obsolete film scanner (Leafscan 45) that I cannot make it work on any modern computers.  Occasionally I still see some show up on ebay. But it is easier to get from ebay as a standalone components, just more expensive. 

This doesn't mean other enlager lenses are no good, especially when post processing dominates the results.

I scan with an Apo Rodagon N 50mm mounted on a Leitz Beoon. Very nice setup, compact and fast.
