lofercan Posted April 19 Share #1 Posted April 19 Advertisement (gone after registration) I need a device to duplicate 35mm slides with my Leica Q-P camera. What would be the best method? Thank you.

FrozenInTime Posted April 19 Share #2 Posted April 19 Direct scanner attachments such as the Valoi Easy35 are easy and quick to use, however do NOT work well with wide lenses placed close to the film, as film flatness in the holder is not perfect. For slides flatness will similarly vary from mount to mount ( plastic / glass / carboard etc. ). Using a crop mode in the Q, and placing the lens further away from the slide would help but pixel count will obviously drop. Consider another camera : I have had good scanning results with 16...25 Mpixel m43 cameras and the inexpensive 30mm Lumix macro lens.
PeterKelly Posted April 19 Share #3 Posted April 19 Quote The Valoi website lists the Q cameras as “not recommended” and suggests using lenses longer than 55mm on a full frame body.
darylgo Posted April 19 Share #4 Posted April 19 Put your lens at the closest focus in macro. Put your slide on a white screen of an iPhone. Attempt to shoot this handheld. Evaluate the quality, refine the setup or try alternatives.
