joed104 Posted April 11 Share #1 Posted April 11 Advertisement (gone after registration) Avoid purchasing items from Leica Classic Marketplace if you are in the US. A 10% Tariff will make the cost most likely more expensive than buying from US leica vendors, and UPS delays are making it impossible to receive your package. The Leica Classic marketplace is not very informative or helpful.

andybarton Posted April 11 Share #2 Posted April 11 What if an item is not available in the US? Do you know that the Classic Marketplace only use UPS to ship to the United States?

Another strange first post!

Another strange first post! My last 2 purchases from them they would not take off the Vat even though their price mentioned that the VAT was added to the quoted price. SO "Buyer be VERY aware" with Leica Classics.
Switz Posted November 5 Share #5 Posted November 5 My Leica days started in the 80s with multiple R3 cameras. The camera interest subsided and died in 2000 when a marriage change caused a change of address for me. The advent of the iPhone and improvements in the included camera became the only tool for my photo experience. In late 2019, my wife and I decided to take a nine week trip through seven countries in Southern Africa. I needed a better camera and acquired a V-Lux (model 114) for the trip which did a great job. It has been mostly stored after that trip. Got a burr under my saddle to have a real camera so acquired a 100th Anniversary D-Lux 8. I quickly realized that while the quality of the photos was great and the telephoto was convenient to use, I would like a more capable device. The "Q" models had my attention but I remembered seeing the M cameras going back to my youth (age 80 now) so decided to see what I could find. I decided a used body would be easier on the wallet and scoured the "Classic" stuff in the USA and found a "certified" 2022 silver M-11. I selected a new Summilux 35mm f/1.4 ASPC as a good general lenses for me to start with. The Leica M adventure starts on 6 November 2025 when UPS makes the delivery to my home. Reading the primers on using the range finder are challenging, but will be doable. Rome was not built in a day so neither will my skill level be very sterling at first. Hope to get to the point that more images are kept than deleted.
