Tarekith Posted April 5 Share #1 Posted April 5 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just curious if anyone else is running into this issue. Whenever I transfer a DNG from my Q3 43 into Lightroom Mobile, either direct from the camera or via the Fotos app, the white balance is always set to 5200K instead of 5500K like I have it set on the camera. This happens when I use the camera matching profile, or one of the built in Adobe ones, and White Balance is set to "as shot" in Lightroom as well. Using the latest version of Lightroom Mobile on an M4 iPad Pro as well as iPhone 16 Pro, but I also see this on the latest Lightroom v8.2 (not classic) on my M4 Pro MacBook Pro. Advertisement Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Hi Tarekith, Take a look here Q3 43 White Balance not correct when importing DNGs into Lightroom. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Le Chef Posted April 6 Share #2 Posted April 6 Why not simply adjust the white balance in LR? I adjust white balance in LR from shot to shot. It’s not a constant.
Tarekith Posted April 6 Author Share #3 Posted April 6 I do quite often, it's just weird for me the RAW image doesn't have the WB applied I selected when I shot the image. All my other cameras work this way, I wasn't sure if this was perhaps a Leica thing or not. The Q3 43 is my from the brand, so I have nothing to compare it with. LocalHero1953 Posted April 6 Share #4 Posted April 6 (edited) What does LR say the white balance is? 'As shot'? 'Custom'? 'Daylight'? I haven't had this problem (I've just checked). Do you have a default import preset? Edited April 6 by LocalHero1953
Tarekith Posted April 6 Author Share #5 Posted April 6 As Shot. I don’t have any default presets, this happens with the stranded LR Import settings you’d get with a fresh install.
PhotoCruiser Posted April 6 Share #6 Posted April 6 vor 12 Stunden schrieb Tarekith: it's just weird for me the RAW image doesn't have the WB applied I selected when I shot the image. A RAW File itself has/should not have white balance applied, thats why it's a RAW file, but the embedded JPG files may do. The white balance and other developing parameters are written inside the RAW file, but applied by the editing or viewer software. Probably a mismatch that LR can't/wrongly read the WB value what would not surprise me on Lightroom v8.2 (not classic) but wired on latest LR for iOS. have you tried to set in-camera WB values to other than 5500K, just to see if it happens then too? Tarekith Posted April 6 Author Share #7 Posted April 6 Advertisement (gone after registration) No, I'll try other WB values later today and will report back. Thanks for the idea.
