I've just hit a very odd issue where DNGs from the camera will not import into LR Classic (Windows 11 Pro).  I've tried connecting via USB / SD Reader, and have even copied the images to the Desktop.  They simply don't show in the import dialog (subfolders is ticked).  Has anyone else had a similar problem?  I'm stumped!

Hi Chris. I have LR Classic 14.2 on a Windows 11 PC. Q3 43 files imported no problem.
Possible clue or irrelevant.... On last import from a very fast CF Express card used in SL3, I apparently clicked Add not Copy while selecting destination etc. almost instantly all files IN THEIR CARD LOCATION were added to catalogue. I blinked and missed that. I needed to remove all from the catalogue before starting again to Copy to correct location. Of course, there is also the Don't import duplicates option to consider.

Let us know how you go after checking LR Classic version first?

Side note... with the DNG files so large from both 60MP cameras I discard the default save to second location copies later after copying lossless compressed, sorted into sets/basic first keyworded copies into that backup location. Belt and Braces maybe?

I haven't seen that problem. I never import via wifi or cable, always by SD card reader to a Windows 11 PC. (I realise you are trying the letter). I don't have an answer other than the usual of making sure everything is up to date.

I never saw this problem either, nor on Windows and not on my actual MacBooks.

But my workflow is in 99% of the cases different as i
copy the photos from the card or by cable to a directory on the computer or external disk named like "photos/2025/Sardinia/20250406 Fishingcompetition/123456.DNG"  (20250406 is the date to sort them in order)
then i import them in Lightroom Classic but with the option to leave them where they are stored
That worked for about 25 yers of Lightroom use.

Unfortunately my Windows Laptop is not here with me so i can't conduct some tests to figure out if i can verify your problem.

You may try to use other Preview and other settings to see if this unlocks the import button.

Feeling a bit foolish!  Sorted.  The problem was a fresh installation of LR and I'd not set the DESTINATION folder correctly.  While I had the problem it was set to a folder that had been deleted.  Once this was corrected all was back to normal.  Very odd.  I've been using LR for nearly 2 decades and never had this problem before.  Heigh ho - never to old to learn, or to make stupid mistakes!

Thanks for various kind suggestions!
