I've noticed in some circumstances my M10M vignettes heavily on the bottom of the frame. It's not a deal breaker, but I'm curious if there are any explanations to the cause. I've noticed that when it does occur, it occurs through the full aperture range. Below are images from the 50mm APO Summicron at f2 and the 50mm Noctilux f1 v4 (where I'd expect a decent amount of vignetting). Even at f8, it's heavily pronounced. In other situations, there is very minor vignetting. Has anyone experienced this or have any recommendations where I could read more?

For comparisons, this is with the 50mm APO at f2, you can see the vignetting occurring again in the same area.

My first guest that there is a second curtain problem.  The vignetting at the four corners is normal for the Noctilus, but the dark stripe down one edge looks like a curtain timing issuse to me. Greater experts than me will chime in for sure with a better explanation.

I think that makes sense. I suspect it’s a combination of the metering and aperture priority assigning a shutter speed that’s too fast for the given environment. Next time I’ll try manual mode and see if I can make any noticeable difference.
