rim_light Posted April 1 Share #1 Posted April 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica Fotos is experiencing connectivity issues with iOS 18.4, which will be publicly available in a few days. I have the release candidate installed on my phone, and I cannot connect the Fotos app to either my M11-D or SL3 cameras. The WLAN connection cannot be established, and although the app recognizes my cameras in pairing mode, it fails to add them. Additionally, when attempting to connect to the SL3, the app prompts that Bluetooth must be enabled on the phone, which adds to the confusion. Therefore, I recommend not upgrading your iPhone until Leica releases an update for the Fotos app. Welcome, dear visitor! Robert Ardinger Posted April 1 Share #2 Posted April 1 FWIW Fotos 5.1.1, IOS 18.4 (iPhone 13 mini) and the Q3 and the Q43 (firmware 3.0) seems to act as expected. Cameras connect and all Fotos functions work.
rim_light Posted April 2 Author Share #3 Posted April 2 Thanks for checking. Did you tried to connect the camera to the app as a new camera or did you just use the existing connection?
Robert Ardinger Posted April 2 Share #4 Posted April 2 I initially just connected with already paired/set up cameras (Q3 & Q3-43). Based on your question I just now deleted the Q3 and re-paired/set up. Eventually all went well but it took longer than I remember when I first set up the camera (last done in October with the Q3-43). Things seem to sort of hang up with both the camera and the Fotos app just spinning the "paring circles". I turned the Q3 off (was giving up) and the Fotos app nearly instantly said the camera was found. I turned the Q3 back on and it finished setting it up. Odd. I then disconnected (not deleted) the camera and reconnected it and it connected (eventually) as expected but I had to restart the fotos app after it at first would not connect. Also both earlier and now, whenever a camera connected I get an IOS notification that tells me the camera is connected but not on the internet. I do not remember that from before (I don't use Fotos all that much). Not sure why I would want my camera connected to the internet, maybe there is a web browser built in that I have not found yet Will be leaving both set up in Fotos for now.
Steve Ash Posted April 2 Share #5 Posted April 2 I had something similar yesterday anfter updating my iphone. I tried to open the garage gate door with the respective app. Failed and took a 1.8 km walk to work. Just had no time and nerve to do the reconnection hassles in the morning. 😀
rim_light Posted April 4 Author Share #6 Posted April 4 The most exciting thing is that I am back home now, and everything works perfectly.
Jonathan Levin Posted April 6 Share #7 Posted April 6 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve found that with LF 5.1.1 and ios 18.4 with Iphone 15 pro max the time it takes to establish a connection between SL3 (current firmware) and Iphone is considerably longer. Hope this gets resolved sometime. Edited April 6 by Jonathan Levin
