I couldn’t find any mention of this elsewhere, so figured I’d share in case it’s helpful.

While experimenting with my Leica TL2, I discovered what appears to be a hidden diagnostic or service menu. If you power on the camera while holding the shutter button halfway down, it boots into a screen with green text rows labeled LV7 to LV1, which I assume stands for various internal test parameters or counters.

In this mode:

The screen shows values like LV7: 0000 down through LV1.

The camera automatically starts taking photos on its own, and I noticed that LV6 increments with each exposure—possibly a shutter count or test counter?

It’s clearly not normal shooting mode—more like an internal CIPA compliance or diagnostic function. • Rebooting without holding the shutter exits the mode and returns the camera to normal operation.

Has anyone else seen this or know what these LV values refer to? Are there other secret menus or button combinations known for the TL2?

Would love to hear any insights, especially from folks with experience in Leica servicing or diagnostics. Thanks!
