Tseg Posted March 27 Share #1 Posted March 27 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know replacement of leatherette is possible with Leica cameras... am in the process of replacing the bland grey hatch pattern covering on my Q3 43. My understanding is the leatherette is "glued" to the surface with something like a 3M adhesive tape. But I was looking at my M11-D (not intending to replace leatherette) and noticed the covering is continuous all the way around with no seams. How did Leica do that? Is it glued on? Shrink-wrapped? I'm sure there is a simple, obvious answer, but wondered if anyone knew?

If you look closely under the lens mount, you will see a small seam. 1

That was the first place I looked. I then looked again this morning after seeing your comment and still saw nothing. But after enhancing a picture taken with my Q3 43 (apologize for the ISO 4000) I finally could see it. Man, Leica did a good job with this. Welcome, dear visitor!
