Elliot Harper Posted March 24 Share #1 Posted March 24 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I saw a good deal of this lens and want to try it out on my SL2-S to scan the film negatives. My current setting for scanning is a Nikon Zf with an F to Z adapted 60mm Micro lens using ES-2 kit. I am thinking what the working distance is for Sigma lens, that is the lens front side to the subject when on magnification 1:1. I did some research and calculation, it seems to be in the range of 10-15cm. I measured ES-2 tubes, it's about 8-10cm so I am 5cm short in worst case scenario. The ES-2 is having 62mm thread, and Sigma lens is 49mm filter size. So I am thinking if I can use bunch of step-up and then step-down rings to extend tube size, or I need to buy a Macro extension tube. Has anyone tried Multi-shot function in SL2-S to scan the films? Getting 96 mega pixels is really interesting, but is it useful for negative scanning? Thanks in advance.
