Hello Leica Fans

I am new to this forum and wanted to know if other D-Lux 8 owners have the same issue as me.

The touch screen has a slight flex movement when pressing in the middle > had the camera replaced > now a slight flex movement towards the top edge. There seems to be a very slight gap between the touch screen and body and not 100% solid feel.

Do any of you have the same experience? Any info would be most helpful.

Thank you

Andy

Welcome, Andy. Have you consulted your Leica dealer? I don't have that model and I have never had your experience with an older model.

It happened to me as well. The lower part of the screen. I sent mine back and got a new one. Same issue. I think the camera is just built this way. It’s only audible when I am in a quiet room. It doesn’t bother me since I have to hold my ear to it in order to hear it.

Solid like a small tank

That's a perfect description. I love the feel of my d-lux 8. And for some strange reason, I get a huge kick from the fact that you can set it on a table upside down and it's just as stable as if it were right side up. Engineering is a beautiful thing.

Just asking, how the heck did you discover that feature! Agree on Leica engineering.

I think it was when I was changing the battery and needed to set the camera down for a second. Geeks like me get a kick out of geeky things ;)
